Review of Inox
So Minions I went against my wedding diet for you benefit. The things I do for you. But now you get the scope on Inox before the Washington Post review on Sunday. Ok, ok so they ate three meals and I ate one, but minions you only need one.

I had an Inox Club cocktail to start, it was a little sweet, but I generally love gin. I could drink it, it was ok, but not spectacular. The meal went much better.
First off: The bread is back. Oh yes, the wonderful crusty, but delightfully soft baguettes, wheat, olive and raisin bread. It is hard not to keep eating it with the perfectly soft, spreadable butter.
the amuse bouche was a salmon rillette on a baquette toast. The salmon rillette was great, like a very good soft salmon salad. The toast was perhaps a little to crunchy, but the flavors of the salmon were so good it could be overlooked.
For my first course I had the butter poached maine lobster, with red wine braised short rib ravioli and softened leeks. The dish was rich and lucious. The lobster was poached perfectly. The ravioli had great flavor and was nice and soft. The butter with leeks had great flavor and added a lot of sweetness and savoriness to the dish.
I tried Fiances Pork Belly with peas and morels. His dish might have even been a little better than mine. I had to admit that because mine was darn good. But the mix between the crispy edge of the pork belly and the tender soft meat in the center. It had a nice broth with it.
For the main I had a trio of veal. There was veal sweetbreads over braised fennel, braised veal cheek over a potato hash with cooked greens that I believe were spinach in the center. There was also a veal steak, probably a piece of the tenderloin, with peas and onion. It was a little salty, but not by a lot. Just a little heavy handed, but overall the flavors were wonderful. I liked the combination of crisp and soft texture. The crisp sweetbread with soft fennel, the crisp potato with braised cheek. Everything was cooked to perfection. There was not a single piece that was over cooked or undercooked. Fiance had the steak with pomme puree. I didn’t taste the steak, but he really liked it. I did try the pomme puree which was like mashed potato fondue in a good way.
Desserts:
I had the Walnut financier with apple. It was delightful again in textured. The financier was moist, but had a slight crunch, there was a custard on top with a thin sugar sheet and ice cream, and apple pieces garnished on the side. I loved this. I tasted the olive chocolate bread pudding, which was a lot like a chocolate lava cake, without the sweetness. But the bread pudding had great moisture without being too soft. I also tried the dark chocolate cake, which was a lot like a mousse of dark chocolate because it was soo smooth. I also had a taste of the hazelnut praline ice cream, which tasted just like nutella and the Earl Gray tea ice cream which had just the right amount of sweetness. Still my walnut financier was the best.
The petit fours were ok…
All in all the meal was great, I think there was a high attention to detail, the service was really nice. There were just a couple tweaks to the cooking, but not many. Overall from start to finish the meal delivered good flavors in each course. There was not a standout in that each really delivered great flavors. I think that this restaurant will only develop to be a consistently good restaurant. It delivered a great meal and service within a short time after opening. Get your reservations now because soon you will not be able to get in for months. This is a place that won’t leave you disappointed or underwhelmed, even for the price.
The restaurant is very clean and open, it was quiet, but not packed, yet…
Also they have complimentary valet parking. The bar isn’t huge, but nice, it was packed even when the restaurant wasn’t all that busy so be prepared, I think it must be a big hangout for all the lawyers and brokers nearby.
