Wedding Wednesday- Essentials to keep you sane: affordable wedding favors and useful applications for planning.

This week I am finishing up a lot of last minute details.  So I thought I might help you with some of yours.

First up Honeymoon:

There are so many great places to go on your honeymoon.  We are going to San Fransisco and Yountsville to the French Laundry, and then jetting off to Melbourne, Sydney and Hayman Island.

To keep your jet-setting straight use Tripit.com.

You can send Opentable.com dining reservations directly to your profile.  You can upload flight plans.  Add stops.  Then on your trip you can pull up your plans on your mobile phone or iphone.  You can also network and add other people so they can help update your plans, as well.  Super handy when you have a techno Fiance and a Foodie like me, who likes to plan the eating!

Another great website to use for wedding planning is: Weddingwire.com

Wedding wire has a lot of tools.  I will admit I haven’t used many at all.  For me, I have 3 vendors to deal with The Greenbrier, the photographer Dominique Attaway and our music.  So managing vendors no biggie.  The RSVP coordinator is cool.  It is just as easy as doing your own Excel or Google Document spreadsheet.  Then you can use those people and do table settings.  I think the table seating charts are really handy.  That is a document that would be a pain in the butt to create in a program, and would be a mess on paper.  Especially with my un-traditional family.  The wedding checklist is also handy.  We have long running checklists, getting smaller day by day!

You can also make a timeline, or ask for help.  I did neither, but I am not that much of a techno, I really believe a lot in paper.  Fiance, however, likes all this online and shareable.  So this helps us both stay happy.

Next we are onto Favors:

We have a slight bird theme, not a sex in the city bird, but love birds.  We have doves that nest on our balcony every year and they are very special birdies to us.  However, we also love tea.  I also think favors that can be used as place cards are uber cool so here are some that I spotted that I think people would be happy to get:

Bird Wine Stoppers- caveat does anyone else have a million wine stoppers?  Because I do.  But these are super cute and would look nice out.

These are eco-friendly flower cones.  They would be great for Jordan Almonds from Superior Nut Company.  They have Jordan almonds in a bunch of colors and are fast with delivery.  I was very happen with them.  Plus if your guests are a little hungry before the meal they can snack.

Cherry Blossom Candles- yay cherry blossoms.

How handy!  I think people would actually use this olive oil holder.
